Diet and Feeding: vegetarian Food, juviniles feed sometimes insects
vegetables that have a positive calcium to phosphorous ratio !!!
Sex domorphism: On adult males the hemipenes can usually be detected visually at the ventral base of the tail. Females have often a smaller head with smaller horns
Breeding: sexual maturity is sometimes reached at 2 years of age. Females produce only one clutch per year. Copulation occures in May and June After 2 month of gravidity the females lay 10 -25 eggs. The females dig ~ 50 cm deep nest burrow , and guard them for about  4-8 weeks  ageinst predators and other iguanas. at an incubationtemperatur of 29-30°C , at these incubation temperatures, all hatchlings are usually out by 90 days and have a size of  270-320 mm . The hatchlings take their first meal after  5-10 days but they will drink earlier
